How to read the index
Alternative.me reports a daily score from 0 to 100: lower values indicate fear and higher values indicate greed. This is its Bitcoin-focused measure, so it may not describe the mood of every crypto asset or a particular exchange. The score is a sentiment summary, not a price forecast or trading signal.
Its published methodology describes volatility, market momentum and volume, social-media activity, Bitcoin dominance, and search trends. The source page says its surveys are paused and Reddit sentiment analysis is not in the live index; it does not provide a live value for each component through this API.
