OpenWrt 10.03.1 USB Image released for ASUS WL700gE

It’s been a while since I released my last OpenWrt image…

After some time I finally got some time to pick up the development for the ASUS WL700gE router/nas.

The development for the USB Basic image is completed and uploaded to the site.

More info on http://wl700ge.hezik.nl

In the next weeks I’m gonne create a image to boot from the internat HDD (image is almost completed just needs to be tested properly..)
Also in the planning is a image that includes al the basic OpenWrt goodies plus some extras added like bittorrent, nzb donloading, media server, and so on.

I’m also trying to create a image that is based purely on security. all sorts of sniffing goodies will be in there ๐Ÿ™‚

Have fun with the new image.

Bought myself a new router to replace my ASUS WL700gE

Yesterday I saw a nice cheap ย router to replace my ASUS WL700gE wich is still running great but the lack of Gigabit port on the lan side is really a bummer nowadays…also my Alienware M11xR2 wants to connect over wifi-n ๐Ÿ™‚
Now that I stream a lot over my internal network I really want to provide 1 gig to all my pc’s.
I already had a 1 gig 4 port switch hooked up to the router to connect my PS3, Workstation and my gaming pc for HD streaming.

The new router is a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND wich was on sale for 50 Euro. It provides vlan support, wifi-n, 5x 1 gb ports and OpenWrt ๐Ÿ™‚

I Downloaded the image from the OpenWrt site. and used the web-if of the router to upgrade to OpenWrt.
In the future I Will add some extra packages ย and hook up a 250 GB 2.5″ hdd.
The progress of my router can be followed on http://tp-link.hezik.nl

lets start playing around and see how stable it is ๐Ÿ™‚
